New Environment Creation

Hi List,

I have a requirement to create a new environment mirroring our current production environment.

We are on 9.1 TR9205

I found the doc-

I have the below questions-

1. I am assuming I can accomplice this using the Environment Director and for my JDE system, it should the standard way? or is there any other better way for this?

2. Also, when running the director shall I copy the environment from our existing PD env or create a new one altogether?

3. Our enterprise server is on AS400, we have 2 servers one for production and one for non production, we are planning to use the non-production server for the new environment because that's where we have enough space. Now, will the environment director create a new foundation/port number on the server to run the new environment's services or will it be part of our existing services on the server? Currently in our no production server we have 2 different instances running with different foundation, one for DV and one for PY. So will the env. director create a separate service for the new env, or will it make it part of one of our existing foundation?

Any notes will be much appreciated.

Set Data Item for grid (ROW) NOT ENTIRE COLUMN

Hello Everyone,

I am rather new to JDE and my company is still undergoing the implementation. Although I am very new I have successfully built a few custom apps for our business needs. Currently I am working on a custom application that we will use to set up our machines, essentially a recipe for the machine parameters. I have built a form with a table dubbed Machine Definition. The definition is essentially a grid where every added row is added to the db under the specified machine key. every definition row has a sequence, a label and a data type. There are also fields for setting decimal places the data item etc only available if that type is selected. From this Definition & a row from another table for header info.....I will populate another form header from the header table, and a grid from the definition table with the sequence, the label "parameter title" and the Value. If the type is "UDC" I want to set the value column for this specific row to a data item (which will in tern have edit rules for specific UDC's). I cannot find where or how to set the data item on a specific row. I can do so on the entire column but not the current row.

I would like to focus on the UDC and the Data item parts for now.
For example If sequence 1 has a type of UDC and a data item of "Some data dict item" Then I would like that value column and row to be searchable(or visual assist) for that UDC type.
Since I hit this roadblock for the grid version I am building a non-grid version in parallel (which works but the code will be monstrous) hoping someone can help me. Ill Attach some screenshots.

Again I am onlya few days into the app. But I am a Mobile developer and have a good understanding of programming. I just cant for the life of me figure out why they made the set data item for the grid set the entire column vs specific rows

Also this is a basic 5 param example the end result will have upwards of 200 with varying types etc.

Inventory Days On Hand

In E1 9.1 is there a way to see the time span between when a lot of materials was received and when it was issue to a work order? I know you could manually look in the Item Ledger, but I was hoping there was an application that would do this, since I'm only really interested in the first receipt date compared to the first issue date.

Custom BSSV not reflecting in JDev of 9.2 Fat

Hi,

I am new to BSSV. I have to work on a custom BSSV in E1 9.2. I added it to a project and did a get. Now, problem is when I go in design and open the Oracle JDev 12c, I can not see that BSSV in the Projects window. I select the Initialise Eone workspace in tools menu but no luck. This happens only with custom BSSV, any standard BSSV can be seen in projects window. I am wondering what is going wrong. Am I missing some setting. Any insight is appreciated.

Installation of Platform Pack of E9.2 failed on Oracle Linux 7.2(Oracle Cloud) with file system "xfs", GSC recommended "ext4" file system.

Conditionally Disable MRP Cancel Messages

Greetings JDElisters! We're facing a situation where MRP will throw WO cancel messages for WIP that is nearly done. Even if the cancellation is legitimate (i.e., we indeed don't need the item) it is often less costly to just finish up and store the item rather than disassemble it and place the components back in inventory. Do you know of any way to disable cancellation messages for WOs above a certain status? That would be a perfect solution, if it were possible.

I know it says on oracle that you can convert partial paid AR records via Z1 (AG <> AAP) but wondering if anyone had an idea how this can be done.

MPS planned quantity to include QC sample requirement

I may be having a blond moment here, but I can't seem to work out how to solve this issue.

Some of our items require to be produced in slightly higher quantities than needed. Eg when a quantity of 5kg is needed, the work order needs to be raised for 5.5kg. The 0.5kg is for a QC sample.
Shrink, yield and scrap settings only seem to increase the quantity of the components.
The planning message is still going to be for 5kg regardless of any of the shrink/yield/scrap settings.
How can I configure JDE to create an MPS planning message for a quantity that is 10% higher than required?

DAS / Auto row height

Hello,

Is there a 'row auto height function' in DAS which will adapt each individual row height in the presentation format to its content?

We would like to add WO attachments in various DAS generated maintenance lists.
However, due to the different sizes we either get really large reports or compact reports in which we can not see the full content of the larger attachments.

R31802A gives blank output when run in proof mode

Hi All
We are JDE E1 9.1 version. We are facing a situation where when we run R31802A in proof mode the report gives a blank output but when run in final mode it is giving all entries correctly. Anyone knows the reason?

Mobile Application Security

So this is driving me crazy and its probably something simple I am missing, but we are trying to get the Expense Management - Mobile Expense Entry app to work (M09E021) in EnterpriseOne - based on the User we are testing with I have narrowed down the issue to being security related as if I place the user in a high level security role the app works without issue, I have scoured Oracle Documentation, JDE List, Google looking for ideas but I am coming up short. I have the application and action security setup, I tried adding security for all published BSSV, the user has security to use the Expense Management app within the web client without issue already. but we are still receiving the following issue.

Mobile app logs in OK and then Error pops up saying "The server is unable to process the request" & "Could not find property iterator in class oracle.adfmf.bindings.dbf.AmxCollectionModel" any and all help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

JDE Implementations full life cycle

Hello,

I often see new positions insisting that the applicant has several end to end experiences of implementations which may preclude someone who has worked with the system for years but usually post implementation. During that time you may well have migrated data into JDE and rolled out the system to several countries but never an actual end to end as stand alone project. What additional skills does an end to end implementation give you?

WorldWriter - Data mapping error on member Fxxxx.

A WorldWriter recently stopped functioning, and started producing a joblog.

The joblog states "Message . . . . : Data mapping error on member F4101.
Cause . . . . . : A data mapping error occurred on field
(Cast(F55312_5.$E$MTL/10000 AS
Decimal(15,4)))/(Cast((Cast(F55312_5.$EURAT/100 AS Decimal(15,2)))*0.01 AS
Decimal(13,2))) in record number 0, record format *FIRST, member number 1,
in member F4101 file F4101 in library KNLPDTA, because of error code 9. The
error code meanings follow: 1 -- There is data in a decimal field that is
not valid. 2 -- A significant digit was truncated. 3 -- A floating point
value exceeded the maximum representable value. 4 -- A floating point value
was less than the minimum representable value. 5 -- A binary floating point
value could not be used for the attempted operation because it is not a
number, or is not valid. 6 -- A floating point value could not be mapped to
packed decimal, zoned decimal, or binary. 8 -- A binary floating point value
that is not a number is not allowed as a key value. 9 -- Division by zero. ... "

The error message continues by explaining the other error codes AND
"... If the error occurred on an attempt to read an existing record, file F4101 in library
KNLPDTA identifies the name of the physical file containing the field
contributing to the mapping error. Otherwise, the error occurred on an
attempt to put or update a record in a file and the file name identifies the
open file that contains the field contributing to the mapping error."

For this WW, F01=F41021 (inventory locations) F02=F4101 (item master), F03=F4102 (item branch).
F41021 is joined to F4101 by ITM. F41021 is joined to F4102 by ITM and MCU.

This WW also has a "second primary file" which is F4211 and is F04.
F04 is joined to F55312 (F05) by DOCO and LNID.

Within the WW output specs, F41021_LILOCN is broken into ALPHA8 and ALPHA6. These represent ORDER# and LINE#.
F4211_SDDOCO creates "SLSORDER" as DIGITS(F04.SDDOCO)

Data selection "links" ALPHA8 = SLSORDER so we should pick up
only those sales order/lines that are (stored as alpha) in F42021_LILOCN.

The WW is NOT updating or inserting into any tables, so it SOUNDS LIKE the issue would be in F4101.

However, that doesn't sound right due to the SQL statements (in the error message) pointing at F55312 fields.
Further, there are rows in F55312 which have ZERO in the E$URAT column.
This would cause the SQL statements to attempt a divide by zero when calculating/casting E$MATL.
BUT, the rows with zero E$URAT should be excluded by data selection.

The point of this post is twofold:
1: Hoping that someone in JDELIST_land has seen something like this before and can provide guidance and/or
2: That a light bulb will appear over my head and I'll suddenly see the cause. (It's worked before)

Thoughts? Suggestions? Smart-aleck remarks?

Which left outer join to use?

Below is a join for my business view

F0901.AID Simple(==) = F0902.AID
F0901.MCU Simple(==) = F0006.MCU

Data selection is below. Only FY is set in the initialize section of the UBE. All others are set when users run the report

F0902.FY = 17
F0902.LT = JA or JU
F0006.MCU = 113246
F0006.PECC != N

I have records in F0901 that DO NOT exist in F0902 yet but I want to include these records in the result.

I tried both SQL 92 and regular left outer join as mentioned in the document (Doc ID 646081.1) but they both do not work.

Do you have any ideas?

How to Correct Future Dated Vouchers That Have Been Paid

JDEList,

This is an odd one.

A user accidently created a batch of vouchers with a GL date in the same fiscal year, but 4 months into the future. The due date was correct. All the vouchers were picked up and paid based on the correct due date.

Is there any way of entering new vouchers with the correct date and re-assigning the payments to the correctly (GL) dated vouchers and then voiding the future dated vouchers?

Headdump files

Hello there

I found around 20 headump files which took lots of space in our system.
Usually it never happen before in one day.
Just wondering is there any tool to read those files to better understand? Or this is normal?
There are .txt and .Trc files as well in the same location.

POST RTF to HTML conversion issue

I'm using the "Media Object Structures" system function to retrieve some text media objects and display it in a GC. Since switching over to HTML and converting and the text, it now shows html code rather than just the text.

Is there any way to retrieve the text without the html code in an interactive application?
