I am in a situation where I have the ability and probably requirement to re-do all the E1 Pages in our organization, looking for some insight on reasons to first create a task item and associated menu vs linking the button directly to the desired application/UBE. The reason of if a version needed to change it would be easier to change 1 task on the menu and have all E1 Pages using that task automatically updated made sense to me prior to playing around with E1 Page composer. I see this being relatively easy to change the pages now (maybe even changing 10 pages would be quicker and easier than changing 1 menu item) would love to hear your thoughts.

We have a requirement regarding Media Object DD Item GTITNM length? The client has a long description on certain media attachments which requires to have file length more than 50 characters.
The restriction for filename length for media attachments is per the specifications for the DD item GTITNM,
which is limited to 50 characters in length.
What would be the best approach for this. Obviously, I cannot change the standard DD Item size.
A workaround would be to create a custom data dictionary item in a custom table
However, how will this custom data dictionary will be inserted/added to Media Object table(F00165) as thaisstores data in blob format.
Please provide your valuable inputs or the best approach for this requirement.?

First, my disclaimer that I am technical, not functional, which makes me dysfunctional.
The A/P department has asked me for a download for suppliers showing open and paid transactions.
Before I create a new DWV, Query, or WorldWriter, I want to know if there is any vanilla JDE that provides this.
Is there?

Hi,
Users are changing the Freight Code (FRTH), It changes the Header but it does not change in F4211.
I checked the P4210 processing option and it is checked to copy header to detail.
Is that supposed to copy FRTH from header to detail if it changes? To my understanding it should not since you can have multiple Freight Code on line level. In our case it does not. we ship the entire order.
Now If i just change the Report to pull the FRTH information from header instead of detail , that will resolve the issue quickly but I do not if that has any effect on the order since the detail records remain unchanged.
Functionally whats the impact?

Menu Filtering is applied for a new role in DV. How can I copy this filtering to PD ? Or should I go to PD and repeat the Enable/ Disable operation ?
This new role is used in DV for training end users, now it is time to go live on PD.

I am having an issue with my Brazilian localizations in JDE 9.2 (new install), I am getting CER logs in N7001691 for CheckDMAAIforSBLandSBLT and N7003781 for R4304016BrazilLogicServerBRA76B.
In both cases I get the message 'CER ERROR #3026 : Unable to retrieve Business Function Header', which indicates that the business function is missing. I have checked doc 640558.1 and the business header for the two functions does not appear in the F98762 table for Planner or DV920.
I am pretty sure I'm missing an ESU. Does anyone know either the ESU that these are provided in, or the name of the BSFN/NER where they are defined?

All,
In the past we have made an image of our developer workstation (includes VS, Oracle, patches, E1, etc). Then when we need to create a new fat client, or 'fix' a broken one, we simply use the image and have the developer take the latest full package (and updates).
With the advent of 9.2 OAS is no longer supported, and a WebLogic install is required before the developer can use the local web. Has anyone created a WebLogic install for a similar situation, what things should I look out for?

I have to set up Inventory module in 8.12 for one of our affiliate companies.
As a parent company we already using Inventory module. But the scenario is little bit different.
The parent company have few big projects, so they keep all projects are Branch/Plants (means all BUs are Branch/Plants). So we transfer material from central warehouse to project warehouse (I know the complete cycle)
But for the affiliate company, they have hundreds of small projects, so they want to keep only the Affiliate Central Warehouse(ACW). Now, my query is that how can I directly issue the material from ACW to projects.
I checked JDE Demo where I could see the B/P in header of Issue Inventory form as same as in the grid. Can I make header B/P = ACW, and grid B/P = Project MCU. Is this okay or I need to something else ?

Hi all,
Application P4310 is creating the order and send an email with link to approver. however the version attached to the approver email link is defaulted to ZJDEXXXX. My requirement is to send an email with the version specified in the processing option of "version" tab filed "Approval Review (P43081)" of application P4310.
Any thoughts on this would be appreciated.
I am on JDE E920 and TR is 9.2.0.5

Hi folks,
Is it possible for E1 data base exceptions in an E1 NER to throw an exception in a JAVA BSSV call? Or end up with the BSSV terminating? Or a BSSV in E1 to be thrown due to a DB error.
We have a weird issue here in work today whereby someone had recently updated an Oracle trigger on F4801 and for some reason the code in the NER that checks SV File I/O status on an update to F4801 didn't work.
A little background. An external system written in JAVA uses BSSVs to call E1 NERs and feed back info (pass or fail basically)
So the furthest most external part of the following call path:
External sys > BSSV > internal BSSV > E1 NER > Table IO > DB lock/problem
Can the DB lock/problem ever end up being seen by External sys
I've pasted the code below, it's very simple and should return 200001 if a pass and 200003 if a fail.
It returned nothing and confused the external system.
It turns out there was an error on the F4801 update due to a recent trigger deployment today.
But E1 would have known about that and SV File IO would not be SUCCESS, right?
Which means 200003 gets sent back. My colleagues who work on the external system are adamant I didn't pass back either 200001 or 200003.
What I reckon happened is yes E1 NER was executed, the F4801 couldn't update due to the trigger issue, 200003 was fed back but............
JAVA went into the throw exception code and ignored my fed back values.
Now this could happen in my BSSV or even in the external system....?
Is that possible or are they totally isolated from one another in terms of a COM error, like in C++ etc?

I am new to JDE E1. Brand new
Was looking to buy myself a book to help train myself and get a better understanding without paying too much money (over 100 bucks).
Is the book below to old to help me? We will soon be version 9.2 and I think we are currently at 8.98
If so anything you guys recommend? I have seen the Oracle docs and do not find them helpful.

Hi,
We are in the process of upgrading a customer to 9.2, using an Iseries server to host the ent & web services. The HTML server on the iseries has 2 instances connecting to production.
(1 VIP with 2 ports)
We are attempting to use the F5 Big-IP to load balance between the 2 instances. The instances have been tested successfully individually and can successfully perform surface test using VIP (completed via both instances)
The issue is when we remove an instance from the load balancer, the traffic for new connections are still being directed to the 'removed' web instance when using the VIP.
-Has anyone come across a similar issue with the load balancer not diverting the as expected
-Successfully set up a single VIP with multiple ports (using websphere) and load balancing successfully?
example screenshot shows 'current' traffic going through port 82 but SVM show connected to port 83.

Hi,
We are currently upgrading a customer to 9.2 and trying to configure a new load balancer using the F5 but having an issue we removing instances, sessions are still hitting the 'disabled' instance.
The ent & web servers are hosted on a iseries machine (Iseries 23X) with webSphere 8.5.5.
We have configured one VIP with 2 separate ports for production. I have tested these individually and using the VIP, surface tests are successful.
When i remove and instance from the VIP, traffic appears to be directed to the correct instance but when i check the sessions in SVM, this shows I am still connecting to the 'disable' instance. (I've attached a screenshot as for example)
Has anyone configure load balancer using the F5 with WebSphere and come similar issues when removing instances? or
Also, any advice with F5 load balancing and webSphere configurations would be appreciated.

We have JDE 9.0 on an AS400. How do we update SETC code (Crew Size) in the currently existing routing records in F3003 with the field value from SETC in F30006.
My manufacturing crew have updated the work center rates field SETC only in F30006 and they want the same value brought into the existing routing records in F3003. I could develop a program but I am wondering if there is an existing way in JDE to do this. Mfg is not my forte..... :o

JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Search feature is available from 9.2 and later. E1 Search is an EnterpriseOne Page (E1Page) . This E1 Page has the ability to fetch the data from the EnterpriseOne Database using AIS Server.
Steps Involved in this configuration
- Download the E1Page ( UDO_92_10024) from Update Center
- Upload the E1Page using P98220W
- Apply the UDO View Security for Data browser using P00950
