B0900601 - Automatic Bank Reconciliation

$

Hello,
I'm new to JDEList. I can debug in C, but I cannot code in C. An issue recently came up with JDE OW 9.0 where B0900601 requires a modification to change the number of delimters on Record 16.

I was wondering two things:
First, can anybody help with C code advising?
Second, does anybody know of a fix to B0900601 which includes an additional delimiter on Record 16 when the final Text field is absent?

Last Purchased Price in JDE

Dear Friends,

Can you advise how can we setup to populate the last purchased price in PO detail while entered the Item Number? We are using cost methods 01 (Last In) & 02 (WAC). Can achieve this requirement through standard JDE or we need to go for customization? Please advise.

Thanks in Advance..

Install Manager issue when installing the development client.

We are on E1 9.0 and upgraded our tools release from 8.98.42 to 9.1.4.7 last year and at that time also installed new fat clients on our two development PCs. However, now myself and the other developer need to install the development fat client on new laptops. These are Windows 7 64 bit PCs.

Through some trial and error we have installed the 32 bit Oracle Client and the 64 bit E1local database. Now to install the actually development client, in the past we would run the InstallManager.exe on the target PC from the deployment server.

However, when we execute the install manager, the only option on the screen is 'Workstation Install'. According to the JDE documentation, there should be an 'EnterpriseOne E900 Client'.

We have opened an Oracle ticket to request, but would anyone like to weigh in on what needs to be done to proceed. For installing the 32 bit client and 64 bit e1local, we downloaded what was needed to install those from Oracle, but now are stuck with not being able to actually install the Development client.

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Different Output from Adobe Plugin and CF Printer

I recently changed some pagestyles to print new signatures. When I open the raw pdf and merge using the CF plugin, I get the correct signatures displayed on it but when I send the raw pdf to a CF Printer, it prints with the old signatures.

Has anyone faced such an issue before? The designer version is 7.0.517.3273.

Fleet Management in JDE E1 8.12, TR 8.96.40

I would like to know the capability of JDE E1 8.12 to manage fleet (vehicles of a company).

We need the following features:-
- Manage fleets
- Manage drivers information
- Manage trip schedules
- Manage fleet maintenance etc.

I saw some posts which directs me to Capital Asset Management and Fixed Assets, or Logistics Management and Transportation management.
For example http://www.jdelist.com/vb4/showthrea...eet-Management

Appreciated if some one share their experience regarding the subjects.

Advanced Pricing won't work when UOMs in Item master are different.

Here is the situation.

We have an item setup with LB as the Primary UOM and TN as the Pricing UOM .
The conversion factor is 1 TN = 2000.0 LB

The item is setup in Advanced Pricing where the amount is the price (it will override the base price, if any). In this case, there is no base price set up for this item. tHE price for this item in the advanced pricing table is 34.51 per TN for a specific price group and payment instrument.

When we enter an order for a customer who is assigned to the price group for this price, JDE does not populate the unit price in the Sales Order Entry screen.
Another co-worker says it’s because the Primary UOM and the Pricing UOM have to be the same in the Item Master. It makes no sense to me, that JDE cannot pull the price when the UOM on the Order matches the Pricing UOM in the Item Master and we have pricing setup for that UOM

We are not allowed to change the UOMs in the Item master. Is there a way to get JDE to pull the price from the Advanced Pricing Table.

We are in A9.2

Thanks

Mobile and Media Objects and Security

Hi JDEList,
I have a few theoretical questions about mobile and not sure who best to ask.
We did put in an SR but can’t believe the answer so hoping that someone can tell me that it isn’t true.

Background:
- We are about to implement invoices stored as pdfs on sharepoint
- We will automate the media object attachment link to the voucher record in JDE as a URL
- We would like implement mobile next year and the first thing that our business will want mobilized is invoice approvals
- So they will need to be able to bring up the pdf from sharepoint, through the URL link in the media object
- Also thought that we should check on other OLE attachments (ie for expense mgmt.) that are on a windows server

Questions:
The original question was ‘will the mobile user be able to click through the media object URL to view the external to JDE stored media object attachment’ – whether OLE on the media object server or PDF in Sharepoint via URL?
We also want to know if using mobile will require exposing the window server and the sharepoint server externally to be able to do this. I thought not as would it not be a proxy id once someone is on JDE?

The answer was…No, that PDF attachments cannot be retrieved over mobile. Only .txt and graphic formats are supported out of the box. Also, there’s a 10MB limit on attachment sizes.
Seriously? No PDFs? and can anyone answer the security question?

Side question on licensing:
I am trying to find what we need to license to do mobile development. For a number of reasons I can’t ask our rep yet.
Is it this? Do we need license JDeveloper?
- Mobile Application Framework Foundation
- Mobile Suite Client Runtime
- Oracle JDeveloper

Thanks in advance for your help from you smart techies.

Sue Shaw (returning to JDElist after a long hiatus)
Currently on E1 9.1, Tools 9.1.4 but will likely upgrade before implementing mobile

Tricky Security Need

I have a client that has an unusual security request. Client uses Mfg work orders to blend components into a finished product used for coating oil drilling pipes. The BOM for the finished product is considered proprietary and a 'secret recipe" that they want to limit the access to the BOM components to just 2-3 users. We have not found an easy way within JDE security to give access to the BOM for these certain items to only a couple people. They don't want anyone (except those 2-3 users) to be able to see the components that make up the finished product, nor the quantities of those components.

Does anyone have any ideas for handling this? It seems to me with all the chemical and pharmaceutical companies that use JDE, there must be a way to secure this proprietary information.

Job Cost vs General Ledger

Hi all,

I am new to the forum. I do search around (Googling) and read around the forum regarding the topic mentioned. But I still can't get a satisfactory answer, so I decided to ask here. Wish someone can clear my doubt.

First of all, my company is working on construction project. We are about revamp a chart of account, especially for project.
May I know what is the exact advantage of implement job cost instead of general accounting?
As my concern here is the job cost will take cost type become object account while cost code become subsidiary account. When my finance dept user try to view the report, it seems weird as it group by object account/cost type (e.g. labour, material, equipment) instead of subsidiary account/cost code (e.g. building/site clearing/pavement).

If that is the case, may I set the work activities (e.g. building/site clearing/pavement) become cost type and the rest (e.g. labour, material, equipment) become cost code?
What is the impact on setting this?

Appreciated the answer. Thanks.

Issue with Routing Instructions back dating Start Date in Xe

All:

We are having an issue when we run the R31410 back dating the start date in the routing table. The Work Order and Parts List are correct dates but the routing is back dating the date to Dec of 2015. I have compared the Processing Options in PY to PD and they are the same. It is happening with all versions.

I can run the R31410 in PY and it works but in PD, it does not.

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Write to XML: B34A1190 : colon gets replaced with an underscore in the element/tag na

$

Hi All, I am trying to use B34A1190 by copying and changing the encoding to UTF-8 as suggested in the above solution. Everything works fine - its adding the tags(elements), attributes perfectly and generating the XML except that its replacing the colon in the tag name by an underscore and its all through the API For e.g.

<cbc:UBEVersionID>1.0</cbc:UBEVersionID> is being written as
<cbc_VersionID>1.0</cbc:UBEversionID>

Now since colon is a special character to an XML, with UTF- encoding it should be written in a different way as I read about it. So while writing the element name as a parameter i tried using

ElementName as 'cbc&58#;UBEVersionID' but still doesnt work. Doed anyone has a clue, how can we insert that colon in teh tag name and not getting it replaced it with an underscore. Any help is appreciated.

Unable to read Multi-Level XML File

Hello All,

Hope you are doing well,

Question :
I need to read an external xml file in JDE and populate the custom table.
Sample is the xml which i am trying to read using XERCES parser.

Issue :
I am able to get the values which are at level 1. ie. <retConsReciNFe>
But when I try to access the details of tag <infProt>, i get an issue. It does'nt brings the right value.
Instead it gives me Bad Pointer. For Accessing the elements i am using JDE Standard API's.
Highlighted as bold & Red in the code.

My Comments :
1) Do we have any better approach.
2) I refered BSFN B76B527 for reading xml.

Why the F4209 it's not recorder sometimes after a SO is released from a Hold Code?

$

We have two cases where the Hold Codes are not appearing in the order but they are on the table F4209.
Moreover, on that table there's no record from whom and when release the Hold Codes so the order is now without a HC and we don't know who did it.

Can anyone help me please?

Thanks

Interface JDE with external systems

$

Hello List,

we are a manufacturing factory and for the next year we are planning to introduce a MES and a WMS system in order to achieve a more flexible control of the production and help our people in the warehouse to schedule the picking of the materials.

Since this will bring in a lot of interfaces with JDE (9.1) we are trying to understand which can be the better solution for us to build the data-interchange.

Here below are some insights we just came to:

- webservices: we're not ready. Never implemented and apparently costly (hw+sw)
- flat files: we already had some expierience with that and we consider this solution too inefficient to guarantee data alignment
- staging-tables : already used for smaller interfaces - at the moment it seems the best trade off

Regarding JDE specifically:

1- I already had a look to "interoperability" and I think it will be useful to move data/changes of F4101,F4102,F0101 and then F4211-F4311 for item mevements and F4801/F3111/F3112 for workorders.
I'm a little in doubt how to pass receipts (standard interop has some bugs) and other small custom data.

2- I had a look to subsystem jobs (and I like the solution. This could help us to avoid WSJ being filled by 1-minute-scheduled reports). Btw on the forum I noticed that subsystem jobs are suggested when the update frequency is higher/continuous.

3- We also already (positively) implemented a solution where there's a single JDE UBE / DISPATCHER (scheduled each minute) which checks on a "reference table" if there are new transactions to process, triggering the needed report only in case it has to update a JDE table or a shared table.

What do you think?

Any idea / experience with be appreciated! :)

Thanks in advance.

How to Declare Variables And Structures in C business Function.

Hi All,

I observed different business functions which are inserting records in the tables. But in those variable declaration and data structures are not same. Those are B03B0201, B76A8360, B80D2031. Kindly anyone help me how to Declare Variables and define Data Structures. I am so confused in this. And why these variable declarations and data structures are not same even the functions purpose is same. Names of Table and data structures used in the BSFN would be different in each BSFN. But the procedure is not same and it is very confused. Kindly help me out in this with brief explanation.

Thanks a lot in advance.
