UDO Projects cannot be viewed in P98220W

Dears,
Our CNC just finished installing the new environments, however all UDO projects (name starts with UDOxxxx) can be found in F98220 failed to be viewed via P98220W. If the UDO projects are imported manually from P98220W then will be fine to view via P98220W.
I don't know what can cause and only noticed the BSVW supports P98220W is joined by F98220 and F98221. And the UDOs brought in by CNC into F98220 are with the fields Program ID = UCA, Category Code 1 = UDO, Target Release Number = E920 and those are only three fields differs from if manually imported.
My question is why the UDO projects exist in F98220 but cannot be viewed via P98220W? All three environments are with the same situation, and like to know if CNC installed them differently or my P98220W filtered them out for some reasons?

p.s. In F98222 it does show OMW project names started with UDO and all the objects related to it.

Importing csv data into custom table in jde

HI everyone ,

I just had my training on jde, and as i am still fresh i need some help. I have a custom table , based on F4141 . The whole point is , i am supposed to receive a csv file , check the quantity , and if it's different than the original that was stored on the F4141 , to update the custom table . I am stuck , at the very begging. I don't know how to retrieve column data from a csv file ...If anyone can help i would appreciate it , i am kind of stuck ... i figured out what to do next , but no idea on how to begin with ..

Control-M Scheduler for JDE E1

Hi,

Happy New Year 2019 :)

Was wondering if anyone has experience with using Control-M as a scheduler for JDE ?

Offlate, I have started on a project where in the client is having an uphill task in managing the jobs submitted in JDE, so of our challenges are like
- The jobs submitted are ignoring the Job Queues defined and the status for the same in JDE. Like Jobs are submitted in a queue even if the Job Queue is on Hold
- Doesn't return the job completion status

Appreciate your insight on the same. Thank Much in advance.

JDE Mobile using Azure, MFA - Any alternative to OAM?

All,

We are exploring our options for using Multi-factor authentication (MFA) for custom Mobile apps (specifically Azure).

If it matters, Mobile development is planned to be done using React toolset (NOT native Oracle ADF toolset)
But we are planning to access JDE via AIS server , same way as ADF apps do)

My understanding, that as per Oracle the only official way to be able to access AIS server using MFA (Multi-factor authentication services like Azure) is to configure SSO on JDE end which in turn requires setup of OAM (Oracle Access Manager)

In that case Mobile client can obtain JWS token from Azure and pass it to AIS/JDE/OAM
Although we do have some experience with OAM, we really would prefer to avoid using it due to various factors (complexity being one of them)

So, I am wondering if there are any other options that will allow us to access AIS server using Azure/MFA that do not involve OAM.
(Obviously we can setup VPN software on mobile devices as an option, but that will require users to enter their credentials multiple times which is no very convenient)

We do have LDAP integration enabled, so JDE users are authenticated against Windows Domain controllers.

We do not yet have ‘long user ID’ feature enabled, but this can be done implemented relatively quickly so logins like username@company.com will work in JDE.

Import different sheets of single CSV file in to different E1 Tables

Do we have any options in UBE to import different sheets of a single CSV to the three different E1 tables at a time.

AIS and Branch Plant security - User IDs

Hi List,

Can AIS sign on into E1 as different users?

I've been asked to look at opening up a way of allowing some of our customer to cancel orders externally. So we currently have java portal which our customers log into, so I'll put the AIS call in there.

How do ensure customer A cannot see customer B orders?
AND
How do I ensure that customer A can only see orders in their branch?

I appreciate this question is a bit high level as I not listing an actual APPL, I just want to discuss the principle for now.

Can this be done in AIS at all, or does the control of that security need to be moved to the java platform (version to call) or back into the E1 screen?

Creating custom subtotal in Transform designer

Good morning,
We are very new to Transform development and can't figure out one issue. Our R42565 (invoice) can contain different line types (S, F, L for example). When PDF with these comes to Transform server, I want to generate my own subtotals based on line type and display it at the bottom. In Create form, we just created user global variables and have a simple IF statement executed for each detail section, checking details line type and adding extended amount to the appropriate global variable. Then each of these was displayed on the last page of each invoice (sales order sub total, freight sub total, discount sub total). How we can create similar logic in Transform 7.0 designer? Built in subtotals won't work. Thanks

One World XE SPC Auth Codes expiring

Hi, we have been running an old version of OneWorld XE for almost 20 years and recently all users (Fat and Citrix) received a JD Edwards Security Warning stating that the Software license was about to expire. Our support partner managed to generate a new SPC code with a new date (6 months into the future), and clients were able to re-authorise, but no one seems to know why this happened in the first place. Would it be that someone arbitrarily set a date when the software was first installed and this date has now come up?

Appreciate if anyone can shed any light on this.

Control is exited in E920

Hi List!
I currently ran into some problem with "control exited" event.
The user upgraded an application from Xe where relevant logic was written in this event.
It was executed if the user just tabbed off the field - so left it blank.
In E920 web this doesn't seem to work any more. Event is only triggered if there is a change of the field.

Any ideas?

Is it possible to deploy an update package at any time, even when other UBEs are processing?

using JDBJ to connect application data

Hi , i am a not a JDE specialist, and work as an architect to build data integration solutions. We are building a solution by using JDBJ to read data from JDE. Our solution will be used by many customers who may have different types of database (Oracle, SQL Server, UDB, AS400 etc).

since we use JDBJ, will my solution work seamlessly across all environments independent of the type of backend database used. provided that we configure the JDBJ related ini files appropriately pointing to the right database drivers.

Cleaning up old update package builds.

Is there a tool or process out there that will allow you to delete multiple packages at once?

It looks like some of the tools that automate the builds and deployments will cleanup, but we don't have one of those yet.

We've been live on E1 for a little over a year and looks like there hasn't been any cleanup of update packages.

Automating Transfer Orders after MRP - Help with the Process

We are looking to implement an automated process for transfer orders for our retail store locations from our Distribution Center. We want to create an automatic transfer order, have the store manager review and approve. Then, the DC can process the order. I think I have most of the answers, but wonder if I could get advice from those who have done it before:

1 - I know you can run the R3411 after MRP. I'd like to add this to the scheduler. any concerns?
2 - The version of P4210 - I'd like to have the order automatically go on hold. Or, is it better to create a status that won't be picked up by the DC?
3 - The store manager should then review, revise and then release.
a - If I use the on hold code, is it difficult to remove? Meaning, can I release the whole order or do I have to do it a line at a time
b - If I use a next status (like 521), is there a way to process the order to the new next status (540) so the DC can pick up the order?
4 - The DC would like to have a single transfer order per shipment. Is there a way to automatically "cancel" the orders from the previous day if they have not reached a given status (been ship confirmed, for example)?

Any one with other advice - I would appreciate it.

R03B5005 Weird Data Selection

I did not use these reports before until lately and saw some long running jobs situation.
So R03B500X calls R03B5005 (and also R03B5001) by Passing BatchNumber as RI value (RNID for F03B20)
Now when i see the internal data selection of R03B5005, we have these lines starts with Set selection append (NO)
Not sure why we have this? Pardon my not doing coding for long time, isnt this will ommit the internal data selection lines we have? basically run the report wide open without taking care of the RNID?

UBE Japanese Vocabulary Override not showing up on PDF

Hello,

I've added Japanese Vocabulary Overrides for the "J" type language preference to my custom UBE, see the attached screen shot (1) .

I've logged in as a Japanese user and run the UBE locally and I don't see the Japanese text from my overrides, see attached screen shot (2). I've highlighted the easier ones to identify. I've tried deleting the six data dictionary files, restarted JDE a couple of times, and no difference. I do see the Japanese names printing on the PDF, so that tells me it's recognizing the "J" type language, otherwise it wouldn't have the font set.

I'm waiting for an update package to be deployed to see it makes a difference but I would hope that we can test the vocab overrides overrides locally.

I've just arrived in Japan to demo my stuff, have several UBEs and Apps to add Japanese overrides....so hoping I can figure this out and show them some Japanese text.

Any ideas of what I'm missing?

Oracle PUBLIC shutdown for JDE E1

We are on JDE E1 9.0, tools 9.1.4.7.

During a data masking project started upon by our IT, we were testing the third party data masking solution and it ran into an issue with the fact that all Oracle DB objects were set to give all privileges to PUBLIC. This is prevent the data masking solution from working.

Opening a ticket with Oracle, they confirmed that prior to 9.2, all database objects are shipped with all privileges assigned to PUBLIC. As of 9.2 this has been changed, but it presents an issue with our 9.0 and data masking.

Oracle/JDE support provided a document 'Oracle Public Shutdown for JD Edwards EnterpriseOne'. This document and the accompanying scripts represent an approach that can be used to move from PUBLIC to where you are giving specific privileges. And the document does say that this document describes an 'approach' that can be used and implies that you may need to review it for your particular environment.

Has anyone had to do this type of thing, moving away from the delivered PUBLIC security. Any experiences to share as to difficulty or things to look for?

I am a long time JDE developer, not a CNC consultant but can build/deploy packages. That is about the extent of my CNC knowledge. Does this solution of moving away from PUBLIC oracle security setup seem pretty straighforward? or is this something that you might want a more experienced CNC person on consultant.
