Foreign Table within JDE

Hello everyone,

I am trying to access a foreign table from within the JDE environment. I have read all the posts on this topic and believe I have followed all the appropriate steps. The problem is as follows
The UBE I created works as expected on the Fat Client and returns all rows I am expecting, but when I run the same UBE on the web client I get "No data selected".

We are on 9.1 on the AS400.

Here are the steps I followed
1. Created a VIEW using Create View command.
2. Created a table in E1 that matches the view I created in step 1 above. Same table name and same columns (type and size)
2.1- I did not generate this table
3. Created a E1 view based on the table from step 2.

At this point I am able to query the E1 table within the UTB on the fat client. So I assumed I was on the right track

4. Created a simple UBE, using the Business View I created, that lists all the records in the E1 table. When I run this UBE on the fat client t works as expected.
5. Deployed table, Business view and UBE to DV and PY
5. when I run the UBE on the web client, The report says no data selected.
Note: If I use databrowser from web client and query the E1 table, the records are displayed. I get the same results when I query the business view in databrowser. it is just the UBE that is not working.

Did I miss something? All suggestions would be appreciated.

Grid Import Limit

Dear All,

We just upgraded to 9.2 (TR 9.2.2.4) and we are having this issue where a user is complaining that he cannot paste more than 1000 rows in the grid. I have checked the jas.ini and my grid import limit is set to 2500. I have even checked the WebLogic server setting for MaxRequestparameterCount is set to 500000. But still the user cannot import more than 1000 rows.

What else I could check to fix this? Is there anything else which controls this apart from those 2 settings above?

Go To URL System function Alternatives for FileNet parameterized URLs

We just added FileNet navigator to our enterprise toolset, with that came a new format for parameterized URLs that we were basing off of the Doc ID in the P03B11. Before we had a connector (intellego-connectx), that totaled out at about 118 characters before the DocID was injected. The new parameterized URLs we're receiving from our FileNet group are 441 characters. The Go To URL function only seems to support 133 characters in our Toolset 9.2.2.5.

Does anyone have a workaround or a better option to use for this or should we be looking for an updated connector that will work with the new parameterized URLs?

TESTDTA as Foreign Table

Hello All,

I just started a new gig at a new company. I've been poking around the system for a few days. I'm running into something I cannot understand. When viewing an NER I try to open any type of Fetch on a table the toolset (Activeconsole.exe) blows up. I'm sure it could be any number of issues. The E1 install on my development workstation is stale. The data source set up may not be right. I have no idea. Just looking for suggestions on troubleshooting. The following lines are from a jdedebuglog I ran when trying to open a Fetch.Single on the F0101 in an NER.

Entering JDB_OpenTable(Table = F0101)

<Now it's foreign????>

Exiting JDB_TableExists with Success(Table F0101)
Entering JDB_OpenForeignTable (Table F0101)
Entering JDB_OpenForeignTableReqCols (Table F0101)

When I double-click on the F0101.Fetch Single I immediately get the following messages:

"Warning! - Your JD Edwards EnterpriseOne system has experienced a fatal system error and is unstable. Please Exit EnterpriseOne."
"Business Function has caused a memory violation" - "There has been an error running the following Business Function: DesignEventRule"
"Business Function has caused a memory violation" - "There has been an error running the following Business Function: MaintainObject"
"An ER line caused a memory violation. ER Debugger will stop at the ER line. Application P9860A Event:Button Clicked"
This is when ActiveConsole.exe blows up and I have to restart.

If anyone has seen this or has any suggestions please let me know.

DAS Scheduler Question - sorry if it's not the right place

If this isn't the right place, can someone guide me to where it is?

We are on version 6.0.73. I have a report on the scheduler that literally takes 15 seconds to run manually. However, when I put it in the scheduler, I never get any output. I have tried every output available with the same results. It works for other reports but it seems anything that is less than instanteous results won't work. Is there something we are missing or something in my scheduler that we need to modify?

Pages - How to get a UBEs Version text show in the icon

Hi List

What am I missing here

If I type this in, I will see an icon with the text Speed Voucher Entry, happy days

but

If I enter this

The UBE icon just says R09801_TITLE

How do I get a UBE page icon to list the version name?

How do you guys write the instruction syntax for both an APPL and UBE icon

For UBEs is it
@A::Apply Forecast to Budget:runE1UBEBlind('R1407','XJDE0001','0')

Login redirect after timeout causing double login

Greetings!

Hopefully this is a simple configuration question... Some users are complaining about needing to login to JDE twice. Apparently their sessions are timing out. At timeout, the login URL ends in /E1Menu.maf?jdeLoginAction=LOGOUT&RENDER_MAFLET=E1M enu

The user tries to enter their login information in this screen--and it redirects to the actual login page that ends in /E1Menu.maf?RENDER_MAFLET=E1Menu&jdeowpBackButtonPr otect=PROTECTED where the user must once again enter their login information.

So my question is--at timeout--how do I get it to just redirect to the /E1Menu.maf?RENDER_MAFLET=E1Menu&jdeowpBackButtonPr otect=PROTECTED screen in the first place? Is this a JDE setting somewhere that I have not found yet? Has anyone else had this problem?

I am on JDE 9.2, toolset 9.2.2... if that at all helps.

Any suggestions would be welcomed

Powerpoint PPT problem

Hi

Has anyone tried creating Powerpoint files from embedded BIP?
We have set this up and the job runs successfully and creates the PPT file, but Powerpoint gives an error when you try and open it.

error - "Powerpoint cannot read k:\........"

Processing XML in RPG

I have a requirement to read/parse/process XML into JDE WORLD. (A73)
I've been able to GET the .xml from the server, but I haven't figured out how to read it w/in RPG.

If I allow the FTP to create the target on the iSeries, I get one very large row in the file.
The record length varies depending on how many XML statements were in the source.
Both the file and the record format w/in it have the same name (ie: both are F55XML)
RPG won't allow me to compile that.

If I instruct the FTP to place the XML into an existing file, I get one row of truncated data.

I don't see any RPG III op codes that allow me to work w/the XML.
I have read about the RPG IV "XML-INTO" command, but haven't done enough reading to know if this would help.

I have read that there are free tools to work w/XML on an iSeries.
I haven't done enough digging on these, YET, to understand whether they would be the best path forward.

Any/all guidance on what I can/cannot do would be appreciated.

How to disable the OLE attachment button while still supporting OLE

Is there a way to disable the OLE attachment button on the Media Object toolbar while still allowing access to existing OLE attachments?

We are interested in migrating our OLE objects to file/URL objects but we aren't ready to do the conversion. We are interested in taking away the ability for users to add new OLE attachments and pushing them towards using file attachments while still allowing them to view existing OLE attachments. The ActiveX control seems to affect both the OLE attachment button and the ability to access existing OLE objects. I haven't found anything about controlling the buttons on the toolbar.

I’m trying to install and configure BI publisher 12c on Windows 2012 r2 however after running rcu I’m unable to run config.cmd from bi\bin. The cmd dies after running it. Any solution friends?

Accounts Payable - Automatic Posting

I have a weird one. In AP, the end user is saying only one of the Payment Groups is posting automatically to the General Ledger.

I checked the setup and the only difference between the Payment Group processing is the version used to print checks. All versions are the same from that point on.

I checked everywhere I know of and cannot find anything.

Any ideas?

Inventory Adjustments in Advanced Warehousing

Hello Everyone,

We are implementing Advance warehousing in version 9.10 and I have a question on inventory adjustments. As per the Oracle documents (Doc ID 1345962.1 & 625720.1), it says that inventory adjustments are not supported in Advance Warehousing. You have to do cycle count for any adjustments. But I tested in my client environment (and JDE demo), it updates F4602 correctly if you make the update using row exit 'Ware Loc Detail" through P4114.

Has anyone used inventory adjustments with Advance Warehousing without any issues?

Label Print in E1

We have a requirement from one of our warehouses for printing labels on Avery 5160 labels.

Getting the information is easy. However, printing them without outside processing (Mail Merge in Word) is an issue.

Was looking at BI Publisher but cannot figure out how to do the labels.

Has anyone did this using BI Publisher or another process withing E1

Advance Work Days BSFN, AdvanceDate API, backwards

I have a requirement to use the Work Days Calendar (F0007) information in reverse. For example, if today is 9/10/2018 and the user inputs '-1', I'd like to call B0000150 - Advance Work Days with the parameter mnDaysToAdd = -1. It would return 9/7/18 (the previous work day).

Right now when I make this call it hangs indefinitely. In the C Code, it loops here (mnDaysToAdd is the parameter passed in to B0000150):

Obviously if mnDaysToAdd is negative and the counter increments, they will never equal each other and the loop is infinite.

In attempting to fix this, I noticed that passing -1 into 'AdvanceDate' also does not fix this. It increments the date regardless (i.e.: 9/10/18 becomes 9/11/18).

My question is, what would be the best course of action here? Is the JDE API AdvanceDate not capable of choosing a previous Work Calendar day? Is there a function that does let me use a calendar from F0007 to do this? Any help appreciated.

Object Browser - Way to save preferences/window settings?

I am creating a presentation on using JDE Object Browser for our developers and BSAs. When I use Object Browser, I always set the 'Object Search' tab to be alongside the UDC Browser tab, and also on 'Auto-Hide.' This is just a better use of the screen, in my opinion. However, if I want to standardize this across our virtual clients, is there a settings file or preferences file I can propagate in order to have everyone's instance look the same? Looking in C:/Program Files/PatWel Group Inc/JDE Object Browser, I don't see any such file (but my Windows app programming leaves quite a bit to be desired). Obviously this isn't a make or break thing, but it would be handy.

Formatting Static Text

Hi I have some static text on my application and I'm trying to give some color to it, but nothing works,not the system function nor the HTML syntax. I have been able to ad color to FC and even to text inside the Text block, but not to this static text. Can some one help with this.

Can't see my changes on DV web for a Batch after deployment

Hello Everyone.

This is weird. If anyone could help me out with something that will be fine.

I have done changes on a custom batch and ran it locally. I could see my changes. I get an xml with my changes.
Post deployment, I see my changes in the code but when I run the batch on the DV server, I don't see them getting reflected. I don't get the xml what I get locally.

I have taken server logs, but no luck there.
