The City of Huntington Beach is seeking a Senior IT Analyst. The common theme for all departmental efforts is "service and solutions delivery", so a high level of service support is essential. The primary focus of this position is to develop, maintain and support multiple ERP and enterprise applications such as Oracle's JD Edwards, Accela Automation or other municipality enterprise systems. This is a highly technical position and will be responsible for the deployment, development, and maintenance of technology solutions and ongoing support of departmental and citywide applications; manage projects and promote team work and collaborative approach to working with other ISD staff and department users.
TheIdeal Candidate for this vacancy will have advanced knowledge and hands-on experience with business process analysis, development and programming, and project management. This candidate will be passionate about technology, an independent thinker, team-oriented, collaborative, and able to establish positive relationships with staff, peers and departments' staff. The ideal candidate should be capable of overseeing the work of other analysts, mentoring them, and should also be comfortable communicating with management and employees at all levels of the organization. A creative thinker and solutions-oriented focus are essential capabilities for this position.
The City currently has a number of critical projects in various phases of implementation. The ideal background will include a mix of private and public sector hands-on experience with IT business applications and project management for significant software development projects. The candidate should be able to manage multi-million dollar complex enterprise projects technology projects. Certification as a project management professional (PMP) is highly desirable.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or closely related field.
Experience: Five (5) years or more of professional level information systems experience in system design and analysis or in network systems (LAN/WAN) in a large enterprise environment, including one year project management experience.
License/Certificate: A valid California Class C driver license with an acceptable driving record required by time of appointment and throughout employment.
Certification in multiple disciplines or multiple certifications in a focused discipline desirable.
SPECIAL CONDITIONS
Must be able to respond to emergency services call out
Must pass a background investigation
Employees regularly assigned/required to drive a city or personal vehicle in the course and scope of work shall be required to participate in the DMV Employer Pull Notice program.
